A little while ago, concerned that the next time they got together, one of them would be in a coffin, Jeff Lucas and Adrian Plass decided to start exchanging letters and this book is the result. Breathtakingly honest, funny, moving and immensely enjoyable, Seriously Funny is a celebration of 21st century Christianity as well as a no-holds barred expose of its sillier side. And they are equally hard on themselves their most embarrassing moments are a joy to read.

Adrian Plass has a way of bringing out the truth in the crazy situations we Christians oftentimes find ourselves, or more likely, put ourselves in. He has a way of seeing it for what it is and pointing out the rediculousness of it. I found myself laughing out loud on many occasions while reading this book as I have while reading some of his others. He's just got that knack. It's nice to know that someone else out there has the same sort of outrages thoughts, doubts, concepts, etc. And most of all sees through the Christian mask we sometimes put on to the real man or woman underneath.Some call him disprespectful of Christianity, but as a Christian myself I find him refreshingly realistic and sarcastically humorous and I love it!

This is such an enjoyable and down to earth book dealing with many of the idiosyncrasies of the christian walk and wanting to be genuine and transparent in the journey. My husband and I laugh so hard through parts of this with tears in our eyes! Definitely a must read!
Here is another "Seriously" Plass book. As usual he takes a look at christianity and in his own Seriously Funny way of saying things gets over his point of where "religion" gets it wrong and what real christianity is really about.
A great read, as expected from our Adrian.
Plass has a beautiful style of combining his personal experiences with some of life's painful moments by providing a lighter look at human nature. So refreshing to laugh at ourselves!
Plass does it again! The dialogue between Plass and Lucas is wonderful! Sometimes funny, sometimes thought provoking, but always relevant to life today. LOVE IT!!!!
It is hard to believe the repeated claims through this collection of letters that it was never intended for publishing. It reads like two people having an unusually loud and specific conversation in public, clearly hoping to be overheard. Perhaps it is just the editing process that creates that effect, but it's a little hard to suspend your disbelief when reading.
Nevertheless, it's a diverting read, and refreshingly honest as we have come to expect from Plass.
